MBA Admissions in Australia Eligibility |
Bachelor Degree:
Most of the business schools in Australia accept the 3-year graduation system for entry into the MBA degree programme. You may be a Bachelor of Arts (B.A), Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) or Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) and gain entry in any of the colleges. However, if you are aiming at the top Universities, you too have to have a good first degree from a leading Indian university.
Also, there are few universities which accept students even without a bachelor degree. But, that is only when they have considerable work experience and have to their credit, significant professional achievements.
Work Experience:
A minimum of 2-3 years work experience is what most of the business schools in Australia demand.
AMBA Accredited MBA Programs:
You have to have at least 3 years of full time working experience for admission to the AMBA accredited MBA programmes.
No Work Experience:
For those of you, who have zero work experience, they have the option to choose from 5 to 6 Australian business schools. These schools offer direct admission to students with zero working experience.
GMAT:
About the GMAT, it must be made clear that it is not a mandatory requirement for many of the Business Schools in Australia. However, the top schools in the country, do go by the GMAT system.
TOEFL/IELTS:
It is compulsory to take the TOEFL or IELTS for gaining entry to an MBA program in Australia. For visa, this is an important criterion for any student applying from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and many other countries. |

Macquarie Graduate School of Management
- Macquarie Graduate School of Management (MGSM) is under the Macquarie University, located in New South Wales. This is a school, which offers various MBA degree programs and has world rankings.
- For admission to the Master of Business Administration (MBA) programs:
- Students need a first degree from any recognized university with a minimum of 5 years professional/management working experience.
- Students will also be eligible if they have successfully completed Postgraduate Diploma and/or Master of Management.
- Alternatively, candidates can apply for positions in the MGSM MBA program if they have undergraduate degree with a academic standard and at least 2 years professional/management work experience. A minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.3 out of 4.0 (or equivalent) is expected from these candidates.
- Brisbane School of Business
- BGSB is a part of the Queensland University of Technology (QUT). The Master of Business Administration (MBA) is offered to the students who have a management experience or to the general candidates who are seeking for general management degree.
- Brisbane School of Business Admission:
- QUT admits candidates based on merit. The publication Real Options offers information about the eligibility criteria.
- Special entry schemes are available.
- Applicants should be proficient in English.
- Selection depends on interviews, questionnaires, geographic location, qualification and prior employment.
